Platter of steamed and fried momos with homemade chutney

Momo is hands down the most famous dumpling in Nepal. But did you know there are several different ways to prepare and enjoy them?

At Rajdhani Express Food Truck in Canberra, we craft our momos daily. Here is your ultimate guide to choosing the right momo style for your palate.

1. Steamed Momo (Classic)

The traditional style. Thin dough wrapped around juicy seasoned chicken or vegetables, delicate steamed to perfection, and served alongside fresh tomato and sesame chutney.

2. Fried Momo (Crispy)

Deep-fried until golden brown. Crispy on the outside, steaming and juicy on the inside—fried momos provide an extra crunch that pair irresistibly with spicy dipping sauces.

3. Jhol Momo (Soup Dumplings)

Momos submerged in a bowl of cold or lukewarm spiced soup called 'Jhol Achar'. Made with roasted sesame seeds, peanuts, tomatoes, and Himalayan herbs, it delivers a rich, tangy broth experience.

4. Chili Momo (C-Momo)

Tossed in a fiery wok with onions, capsicum, garlic, green chilies, and a rich savory sauce. Perfect for lovers of hot and spicy street food.
